October is National Farm to School Month, and we invite you to join us in celebrating! ‎This year's theme, "Rooted in Community: Growing Stronger, Together," emphasizes that farm-to-school is built for and by communities, uniting people from all walks of life who all share a common vision of an abundant, nourishing, and equitable food system. GCS proudly partners with local farmers to feature locally grown food in our cafeterias throughout the school year. #farmtoschool

Students in the third grade pretended to be the fourth pig with a mission to build a house that would withstand the big bad wolf. They planned what materials they wanted to use and then worked on their designs. Finally, they tested their structures to see if they were able to withstand the wind.

We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend. As you all know, we are once again participating in the Rails to Trails and Pirate Tales program. Enjoy time on the Greenbrier River Trail with your friends and family between now and November 6th. Make sure to send your completed paper in to Mrs. Anderson so she can keep track of the miles our students are getting. We look forward to seeing those pictures!
